Marta Ceccucci

marta ceccucci

I am a young Italian artist, born in Umbria and raised in Florence where I graduated in Occupational Psychology and Human Resources. I’m interested in all forms of art, I’ve been taking pictures since I was 13 with a film camera, and I’ve been painting for about 8 years; in particular, I am interested in the current Abstract Expressionism. I painted and took inspiration for my paintings and photographs in various cities and places: from houses to squares, to public places. From Florence, Venice, Rome, Turin, Paris, London, and Berlin. I also like to be inspired by places in contact with nature: the sea, the hills, and my grandmother’s house; here I feel a strong call to search for my origins and to safeguard the integrity of my Soul.
When I paint I often listen to music, from Italian to French through the Cuban music of Buena Vista Social Club, Beirut, Cindy Lauper, Bob Dylan, and Joan Baez.
Those who have seen my works say that my technique recalls that of Mark Rothko and Pollock and so I have continued to draw inspiration from these artists and to bring out emotions and colors in canvases, sheets of paper, pieces of wood, plates, vases, and others.
I have participated in exhibitions with my works, both personal and collective, through galleries and through competitions.
I have also exhibited online through the Arte Laguna Prize.
Another work of mine through the Meneghetti Art Prize is a finalist in the painting section and presented in the online catalog of the Prize.
