The voyeur – death watch, is a work of Safir-Rifas’s collection.

The voyeur – death watch. In this painting the artist presented two themes: construction and destruction. To do this she used three characters, the lovers and the shadow or voyeur. Construction is the positive aspect represented by love, life and warmth; on the contrary, destruction is the shadow of the voyeur, which symbolizes hatred and death. The presence of the voyeur as a disturbing shadow is to explain how in every moment of our life, opposite elements such as construction and destruction or life and death or love and hate are always constantly present. The two young people hold each other with a thoughtful air, as if reflecting on their relationship, a disturbing figure looms over them, the voyeur. Indefinite and inscrutable almost collapsed on itself, it symbolizes the negative and everything that can be associated with it. It is the eternal doubt that everyone carries with them in life, every choice is a crossroads. Behind them there is the light that illuminates the scene and a window, which symbolize the hope of a positive choice or the escape to another destination.
