Perfect symmetry The artist suffers from a Vangoghian influence, the sky in particular, with his gold / white / brown brush strokes, recalls the style of the great Dutch artist. Here two aspects collide, which find perfect symmetry, the darkness of the ancient city with dark walls, a massive, heavy bridge, in the clear sky, which even shines, of that sunlight that is rising, but which is still too far off to fully illuminate the city.
It is a painting with a double reading: the old static, motionless dark, and the young man who with his light, his movement brings novelty. It is probably this second reading that Irina Svistova wants to underline in her painting. The light that is renewed and that renews life, compared with the static nature of a construction that challenges time, but cannot renew itself.
