Sunflower No. 8 is an artwork by Yury Pervushin.
“Sunflower No. 8” is a large canvas, square sized 100 x 100 cm. It is almost completely covered with the sun disk inside the flower.
This is standing out from the details around the corolla, ruffled crowding round, placing over, abstracting in the almost monochromatic effect. Here, yellow and ochre nuances variously strengthened on the prevailing scale of the whites. Before the background, intersecting circles stand out, showing up the repetitive grain of the sunflower seeds. So, this creates a dynamic effect of convergence, where the seeds gradually becoming smaller. Almost as a whirlpool towards the center. Sort of sun light strokes emphasize the effect of abstraction and the poetic result of the work. Sometimes they hit the corolla, creating shadings and sunburn effects. Finally, the result is also a positive-negative exchange.
