Deep, but shortly, shining of strong light.
In Spanish the word “destello” means “a deep, but shortly, shining of strong light”, like a flash. Therefore, this is really what you can see, you can feel, in this work. A kaleidoscope of colours that, by time to time, are spreading from the center. It starts with tridimensional effects too. From the optical white, that seems filtering through the splendid colours of the background. Of course, this is an abstract image, characterized by a base from which calm and serenity are shining. There is a very expert use of “cold” colours. The grey, the intense blue straying in the black, the violet. The yellow too is an ochre-yellow, and the sudden strokes of red are actually of “paonazzo”, or “pavonazzo” (a kind of purple), the beloved colour of Italian Renaissance. This name is etymologically coming from the Latin “pavonaceum” (from the peacock tail), a kind of violet-red, tending towards the dark. At the end: a perfect scale of Liberty colours, that distemper the dynamism of the work in an atmosphere of great balance and formal beauty
