Nica is a work from Alexander Chalovsky’s collection.
Nica. It is a work that refers to the winged Nike of Samothrace. The original statue, found headless and armless, depicts Nike, the young winged goddess daughter of the titan Pallante and the nymph Styx, adored by the Greeks as the personification of sporting and war victory. Here Alexander, who inserted it in the Lost series, intends to emphasize, instead, how the war of which victory is the goal, in reality, brings with it indelible disfigurement even in the winners.
