The work leaves a sense of fear, of tension. The woman is covered in a short shirt, suggesting that her anguish has gripped her. The feeling of not being alone in the tranquility of her home. The artist manages to convey perfectly, despite having, as usual, deliberately ignored the features of her face. Indeed the pale white of her face gives even more of a sense of tension.
