Maleficent invokes the fairy tale, witch of popular culture, fighting for the rights of people, nature, and harmony, even when her appearance is of deceptive darkness. Sometimes facing the dark is what brings the light. Arpita knows how to surprise with her paintings and her themes. Representing evil as a way to good is an image that both popular traditions, but also religions themselves evoke. Sometimes representing it inversely as: “the way to hell is paved with good deeds”.
