Lovers. This work was inspired by erotic art. “Lovers” is a painting that represents the dream pose of a young couple lying on the bed who fell asleep exhausted after intercourse. In their sleep they are tenderly embraced, almost as if sleep had suddenly taken them during their effusions. However, it is a hug that underlines all their love and mutual giving. The light from the window above their bed casts a soft atmosphere over the whole scene. The “Anima” series of paintings outlines the nature of the female aspiration “Animus”, which is the personification of the most desired woman: “The unattainable feminine ideal”.
