Il Merlo 2, is a work from Giovanni Crisostomo’s collection.

Il merlo 2. In this work, Crisostomo Giovanni uses shades of green as predominant. The elliptical perimeter in which the main scene is included is a kind of focal lens, which makes clear what is inside and leaves all elements that remain excluded, blurred, and confused. This sort of focal perimeter is interrupted by the planar of the blackbird, which descends into a garden composed of colored fragments, sometimes “highlighted” a sort of puzzle with irregular shapes. His style takes inspiration from the currents of the great French painters of the second half of the 19th century and from the Futurism of the early 20th century. Two great schools to which contemporary art often turns. In the case of Giovanni Crisostomo, there is a fusion and an original evolution of these two artistic movements, which allows him to create with an unmistakable and original style and at the same time to enter into very different themes.
