Il Merlo 2 is a work of Giovanni Crisostomo’s collection.

Shades of green.  In this work Crisostomo Giovanni uses shades of green as predominant. The elliptical perimeter in which the main scene is included, is a kind of focal lens, which makes clear what is inside and leaves all elements that remain excluded, blurred, confused. This sort of focal perimeter is interrupted by the planar of the blackbird, which descends into a garden composed of colored fragments, sometimes “highlighted” a sort of puzzle with irregular shapes. In his long professional experience, the artist has had the opportunity to attend great masters both in Italy and abroad, which have allowed him to perfect his art. His works have an unmistakable personality and style. His style takes inspiration from the currents of the great French painters of the second half of the 19th century and from the Futurism of the early 20th century. Two great schools to which contemporary art often turns. In the case of Giovanni Crisostomo, there is a fusion and an original evolution of these two artistic movements, which allows him to create with an unmistakable and original style and at the same time to enter into very different themes. His paintings recall the artistic windows of churches, where elements of various colors and shapes meet to create complex figures, a kind of large puzzle.
