Escape from Egypt is an artwork belonging to Claudia Ciotti’s collection.

Escape from Egypt. Claudia Ciotti has created a wonderful work inspired by the one performed by Vittore Carpaccio, sometimes also called Vittorio (about 1465 – Capodistria, 1525/1526), was an Italian painter, and citizen of the Republic of Venice.
He was one of the protagonists of the production of canvases in Venice between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, perhaps becoming the best witness of the life, customs, and extraordinary appearance of the Serenissima in those years. Like other great Italian masters of his generation (Perugino, Luca Signorelli, Andrea Mantegna himself), after a period of sumptuous successes, he experienced a crisis shortly after the stroke of the sixteenth century due to the difficulties in assimilating the revolutionary and modern contributions of the new “greats” like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo or Raphael. Claudia Ciotti’s work is not a restyling but is proof of the mastery of an artist who knows how to retrace the wonders of art history. The absolutely different execution technique itself is further proof of this. Here it is no longer the brushstroke on the canvas, but the one on refractory stone, which involves innumerable executive and design difficulties.
