Chet Baker, is an photo belonging to Massimo Perelli’s collection.

Chet Baker. His success strengthened after he left the Gerry Mulligan Quartet. Baker founded his own jazz band, in which, in addition to playing the trumpet, he also covered the role of singer. In 1954 Chet Baker won the best instrumentalist award in the Down Beat magazine poll, beating Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie and rising star Clifford Brown among others. During his tours he often played in Italy, where in 1959 and 1960 he recorded some discs with the orchestra of Maestro Ezio Leoni (artistic pseudonym Len Mercer).
