Bud Powell, was an American jazz pianist and composer. With Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, and Dizzy Gillespie, Powell was a key figure in the birth and development of be-bop and modern jazz in general. Besides being a virtuoso of the piano he was a very notable composer, his pianism and his compositions have “widely extended jazz harmony”. It is a dedication that Marie Reine made to this extraordinary artist.
