Battaglie Ungheresi. The artist refers to the battles that most marked the history of that country, but we could easily affirm the history of the whole of Europe: the battles against the Ottomans.
By virtue of those battles the Ottomans and the spread of the Muslim faith did not succeed in prevailing in Europe, over Catholic customs and faith. Franchi with his boyish spirit wanted to relive those moments in history, through a colorful scheme made up of characters and animals with bizarre almost alien shapes. It is the play of form/color that we find in Franchi’s creative vein which, in addition to determining his creative originality, indelibly marks his artistic path.
