Batman is in a surrealistic labyrinth is an artwork belonging to Walter Capezzali‘s collection.

The artist took its inspiration from a very particular place in the USA.
In fact, in Alliance, Nebraska, Jim Reinders realized Carehenge, an attractive land work.
That is a faithful reproduction of the more famous Stonehenge in Amesbury, United Kingdom.
Old car frames, here, are painted in grey, and similar to stones.
The hero lose himself inside a surrealistic labyrinth.
A veiled Medusa is waiting for her destiny.
But the hero is Batman! What about Perseus?
Walter Capezzali really likes the world of Hellenic gods and heroes. Mithology also reprehesents the basis of art history of Italy. But, also the American cartoons heroes have entered Walter’s dream world. With a jump into the past, cartoon heroes replace Homer’s characters, perhaps hoping that their superpowers will modify an over millennial story. Capezzali’s collages are the comic version of the Greek poems. The artist uses modern images from magazines of all kinds and creates those fantastic settings that the great poet Homer could only describe in words.
